The UW has been conducting a research project to review job descriptions, job titles and pay levels. The union has been monitoring these efforts and plan to make our opinion on the UW's study known. We will be distributing a petition at your worksite that demands the following:
PEITITION TO SUPPORT UW WORKERS’ FIGHT FOR RESPECT AND FAIR POLICIES
We, the undersigned employees at the University of Wisconsin Madison, deserve respect and fairness in as should be reflected in University policies and practices that includes the Title and Total Compensation Study expected to be implemented in the Spring of 2020.
- We demand the University recognize the dedication and hard work of all employees including those who have stayed with the University for the long haul. Therefore we oppose any efforts to undermine that recognition though policies that eliminate consideration for years of service in pay rates and other policies.
- We demand a fair pay scale that reflects equal pay for equal work that doesn’t fall victim to institutional bias by relying on market based research.
- We support a living wage and we opposed any subcontracting of living wage jobs at the UW and that LTD positions be established as full time positions with benefits.
