We are AFSCME Local 1218.

AFSCME Local 1218 represents the dedicated public employees of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources who keep our state's natural resources protected, conserved, and accessible for all Wisconsinites. Our members include administrative support staff, scientists, technicians, field workers, and many others—excluding credentialed Conservation Wardens and Forest Rangers covered by Local 1215—who deliver essential services that safeguard clean water, manage forests and wildlife, maintain parks, respond to environmental challenges, and support outdoor recreation and environmental stewardship across Wisconsin.

As part of AFSCME, the largest union for public service workers in America, we stand together to fight for fairness in the workplace, better wages and benefits, safer working conditions, stronger job security, and the resources needed to provide excellent public services. We know that when public employees have a real voice on the job, our communities thrive—because we make Wisconsin work every day.

Stronger together, Local 1218 members bargain collectively, advocate for policies that protect both workers and the environment, and build power to ensure public employees are respected and valued for the vital role we play in preserving Wisconsin's natural heritage for current and future generations.

Join us in building a stronger union and a better future for Wisconsin's public workforce and the people we serve.

In solidarity!
