Madison Headquarters Relocation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SUBJECT: Wisconsin AFSCME Council 32 Madison Office Relocating

Wisconsin AFSCME announced Friday that it is planning on relocating its Madison headquarters to a more efficient space closer to downtown.

“We are excited for the move,” said Executive Director of Wisconsin AFSCME, Rick Badger. “Since the unification of Wisconsin AFSCME’s three councils two years ago, we have been reviewing what we, as an organization, need to be doing in order to provide our members the representation they need in a state that is determined to silence workers’ voices.  When unification occurred, AFSCME Council 32 inherited large buildings in Madison and Milwaukee that served as separate headquarters for the previous councils. Madison will remain our headquarters and we believe we can better advocate for our members by finding office space closer to downtown. This will place us closer to lawmakers and allow us to be more accessible to our members.”

Wisconsin AFSCME is currently headquartered on the far west side of Madison outside the beltline and will be selling their current building as part of the transition. This move will have no impact on the union’s Milwaukee district office.
